Guinean international Naby Keita has been given the all clear by Liverpool after being taken to hospital during the club’s Champions League defeat to Napoli.
A summer arrival at Anfield, Keita was forced off after just 19 minutes, as his teammates slumped to an eventual 1-0 loss.
Liverpool’s medical staff have assessed the player, and have stated the issue is only back pain. Keita will fly back to Merseyside with his teammates on Thursday.
Keita joined the Reds for £48m in a deal that was organised a year before the actual transfer, and it appears Keita could potentially add to his nine appearances in a red shirt this weekend against title rivals Manchester City.
Any fears over the Guinean’s availability for the next international break should be calmed by the fact the midfielder was named in Guinea’s 23-man squad on Thursday.
